Earlier, Nissan dropped a teaser image of its compact SUV Nissan Kicks, covered. And now, the company has taken-off the wraps revealing its front fascia in this latest teaser image. The compact SUV will make its public debut at the inaugural event of the Rio 2016 Olympics and Paralympic Games. Though, the Nissan Kicks will be first launch in North American market, and reportedly, it will make its way to Indian shores by 2017.
Showcased at the 2014 Sao Paulo Auto Show in a Concept form which was an evolution of the Nissan Extrem concept, showcased at the 2012 Sao Paulo Auto Show. Nissan Kicks is said to be based on the company’s V-platform that also underpins Nissan Micra and Nissan Sunny. The initial wave of the compact SUV will be exported from Mexico to Brazil, while from next year company will commence the manufacturing from its facility in Resende, Brazil.
Under the hood, the compact SUV will be powered by a 1.6-litre flex-fuel engine and the transmission duties will be carried out by a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic unit. In India, the Kicks compact SUV will be offered in both petrol and diesel engine that will include a 1.6-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. Nissan has also confirmed that the Nissan Kicks will be built at the Resende Industrial Complex in Rio de Janeiro State in Brazil.
